By CricketPlaying11 Desk • Oct 24, 2026 • Match at 1:30 PM IST, Oct 25

Pakistan vs England, 4th ODI of the tri-series - here is the probable playing 11, Dream11 picks, pitch report and live streaming in India in one place. Pakistan have won both their games so far, and a win in Lahore on Sunday puts them straight into the October 31 final. England have lost both of theirs, including a game where they could not defend 429 against Sri Lanka, and they must win this one to stay alive in the series.

If you are in a rush, check the table below first. It gives you the match, date, time in IST, venue, both probable XIs, our captain and vice captain picks, and a short pitch note. Then read the rest if you want the reasons behind the picks. We write Probable / Predicted on every XI that a team has not confirmed yet. That matters for Dream11, because one late change can break a whole team.

Why this game matters

This is the fourth of seven matches in the tri-series, and the first of the Lahore leg. Pakistan sit top of the table after beating Sri Lanka by 37 runs in the opener on October 18 and then beating England in Rawalpindi on October 20. Sri Lanka bounced back by chasing down England's 429 on October 22, which left England at the bottom with two defeats and a negative net run rate.

The maths is simple. If Pakistan win on Sunday, they are into the final. If England win, the race stays open and Pakistan must wait. If England lose again, they are as good as out. England's white-ball head coach Brendon McCullum called Pakistan "a very strong side" before the series and said playing subcontinent teams in subcontinent conditions "has its own challenges". His captain Harry Brook called it "a massive challenge" and said England want to show they can adapt to different conditions. After two defeats, those words will be tested.

Form backs Pakistan. Salman Ali Agha hit 107 in the opener, his fourth ODI hundred and a Pakistan record for the most ODI centuries by a batter at No. 5 or lower. Babar Azam crossed 16,000 international runs in the same game. Shaheen Shah Afridi led the attack with three wickets, and Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf and Faheem Ashraf all struck. England's batting has actually fired - Harry Brook made 202 in the defeat to Sri Lanka - but their bowling has leaked runs in both games, and a side that keeps losing from strong positions starts to doubt itself.

Head to head

Pakistan and England have played 92 ODIs against each other. England have won 57, Pakistan have won 32, and three games had no result. The last meeting before this tri-series was at the 2023 World Cup in Kolkata, where England won by 93 runs. In this series, Pakistan won the first meeting in Rawalpindi on October 20. The head-to-head numbers are taken from the Geo Super and CricFacts match guides we checked.

Head to head helps, but it does not pick your team for you. Players change, pitches change, and a young player in form can beat an old record in one game. Use the record to see who has liked this match-up in the past, then look at current form, who is fit, and who is sure to play.

Pitch and weather

The Gaddafi Stadium surface is batting-friendly with good bounce and carry for stroke-makers. Seamers can find early movement with the new ball, spinners come into the game in the middle overs, and the quick outfield rewards timing. A first-innings score of 280 to 300 is par here. Captains may like batting first on a fresh pitch, but dew is expected later in the evening, which can make chasing easier under lights. That is the call the toss-winning captain has to weigh.

Weather should not get in the way. It will be warm, around 30 to 32 degrees in the afternoon, with moderate humidity and no rain expected. Clear skies and a light breeze mean a full, uninterrupted game.

Playing 11 - how we picked it

Pakistan Probable / Predicted XI: Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Saad Baig (wk), Hasan Nawaz, Salman Ali Agha, Arafat Minhas, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Shah Afridi (c), Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah.

England Probable / Predicted XI: Tom Banton, Ben Duckett, Joe Root, Harry Brook (c), Jordan Cox (wk), Sam Curran, Will Jacks, Jamie Overton, Liam Dawson, Gus Atkinson, Josh Tongue.

We built these XIs from the squads and the playing XIs actually used in the Rawalpindi games, as reported by Geo Super, SportsCafe and the match guides we checked. Pakistan look settled and may go unchanged from the side that beat England on October 20. Two things are worth watching at the toss: Shadab Khan and Sufiyan Moqim missed the opener through illness, so if they are fit they could come into the mix, and Muhammad Ghazi Ghori is the second wicketkeeping option behind Saad Baig. For England, Adil Rashid played on October 20 but sat out on October 22, when Liam Dawson and Josh Tongue played instead - Rashid could come back in if England want the extra leg-spin at Lahore. Jos Buttler is out with a hamstring injury and Jofra Archer was rested for this tour, so neither is in the squad.

If a team rests a player, brings in an extra spinner, or swaps a fast bowler for the pitch, the XI will change at the toss. That is normal. For Dream11, wait for the toss, swap in the confirmed names, and only then lock your captain and vice captain.

Dream11 and fantasy picks

Our captain pick is Salman Ali Agha or Harry Brook. Our vice captain pick is Babar Azam or Joe Root. The thinking is plain: pick players who touch the game a lot. Agha is in the form of his life and bowls a few overs too. Brook just made 202 and will be desperate to drag England back into the series. Babar and Root are the calm heads both sides build around.

For a safe team, build around the probable XIs above. Shaheen Shah Afridi with the new ball, Fakhar Zaman at the top, Sam Curran's all-round points, and Adil Rashid if he plays are all solid. For a grand league team, one smart risk can be Hasan Nawaz, who has cleared the ropes six times in the series, or Tom Banton, who has looked England's most settled opener. But keep the base of your team safe - too many risks in one team rarely pay off.

Team shape that works on most days: 1 to 2 keepers, 3 to 5 batters, 1 to 3 all-rounders, and 3 to 5 bowlers, based on the pitch. On a flat Lahore pitch, an extra batter is fine. Check credits as well - a cheap player who is sure to play is better than a big name who sits out.

Key battles

Watch the new ball first. Shaheen Shah Afridi against Ben Duckett and Tom Banton could decide the first ten overs - if England's openers get through him, the pressure shifts to Pakistan's middle-overs bowlers. Then watch the middle phase: Pakistan's batters against England's spin options, and whether Adil Rashid plays and gets grip at Lahore. At the death, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah against Brook and Curran is where fantasy points often swing late. Small things, like who bowls the last over, can decide both the game and your Dream11 rank.

Live streaming and toss in India

In India, the match is on the Sony Sports Network on TV and streams live on SonyLIV. The toss is at 12:30 PM Pakistan time, which is 1:00 PM IST, about half an hour before the 1:30 PM IST start. Set a phone reminder, check the confirmed XIs at the toss, and fix your Dream11 team then. Do not rely on a team you made the night before if there is late news on fitness.

Our verdict

Pakistan start as favourites. They are at home, they have won both games, their middle order is firing and their fast bowlers know these conditions. But England are not a side having a bad week by accident - they posted 429 two days ago, and if their openers survive Shaheen's first spell, this becomes a genuine contest. Our lean is Pakistan, narrowly, most likely in a game that goes deep. Play the conditions, not the hype: wait for the toss, check for dew, and pick your captain from the sure starters.
